Sainsburys are doubling up Nectar points until 30th April

Just a word of warning - if you're going to a Sainsbury's store doing this promotion and ... it's NOT a store you've used your Nectar card at before ... it is a lot of hassle and involves visits to the Clothing & Home Desk (where vouchers for this promotion are issued), visits to Customer Services and problems at the checkout where you have to ask for a 'saved' transaction and you then pay at Customer Services!!. I actually never got a voucher because it was my first visit to this particular Sainsbury's and Customer Services had to ring Nectar to deduct Nectar points from my Clubcard, after Nectar spoke to me. It was the only way I could take advantage of the promotion. Nectar deducted the points and I got the cash off my bill. It's good to see Sainsbury's doing this promotion, but there are problems that need sorting out. However I accept it's the 1st time they've done this and it's not going to be perfect straight away. Hopefully it will be repeated and a will involve a lot more stores and a lot more departments within the store.0

I found out that my hubby could do the same on his card for our account too, upto a maximum of £50 between us. So make sure you use it if you have it!!0

Thanks for this info, I had already changed up £20 to £40 for clothing, hubby went to CS and asked for £20 to £40 on frozen and was declined, the CA told him it was because his card was old. OH asked if there was a limit as I had already changed up £20 and was told the limit was £25 per day!! Off I went to CS convinced it wouldn't work on my card, it did :j

Reading the Flyer given to me on my visit to my participating store on Friday, 6 Departments are covered. Therefore, if you have 5,000 points to redeem you could select a £10 voucher for 5 of them. Be warned though, the flyer states that the amount redeemed will be issued in 'A VOUCHER' for that amount. i.e. £10 for 1,000, £20 for 2,000.
I am going to ask if I can have my £50 of vouchers in multiples of £10, as if you don't use the whole amount in one go, then you lose the remainder.MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:0 -
"CA told him it was because his card was old. "
I wonder if they meant he has to have used his card in that particular store within the past 6 months in order for it to work, as that was what I was told.0 -
Is it not a case of buying a £1 item and using the Nectar card first in that store to get it working?--- Warning: Grumpy Old Man in Training ---0

No he uses it every week, it's because he still has the old style card he can collect on it but can't redeem so we use mine. At first we thought the double up was refused because I had already done £20 on my card, however the CA was adamant the limit was £25 per day and another £20 on frozen went through fine.

I did this and it looks like the staff messed it up. I got and spent the voucher Ok but the points were not deducted :j
Am avoiding Sainsbury's now until the promotion is over.
Points still showing on Nectar

I got 2 vouchers. 1 for £20.00 off of frozen food and 1 for £10.00 off TU. When I requested the vouchers the till also produced me 2 Double Nectar points spits. The Customer Services Guy was really helpful and said I could request the remaining vouchers when I was next in, as long as it was before the 30th April. Also said I could redeem 5,000 from my husband's card as well (linked to my account).
Points came off straight away, he gave me a receipt. When I got to the till to pay, I used both vouchers and 1 of the Double Nectar points spits. Despite only paying £22.00 of my £52.00 spend in cash, I still got double points on the whole shop. Also have another Double Nectar Points spit to use next week.

I am more than happy with the offer, which is apparently a trial, hence only the 50 selected stores. If it is successful, i.e. creates more sales, more customers and more repeat sales then it may become a regular offer on a wider scale.MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:0
