Help my ex-partner bankruptcy has left me blacklisted

Help - I found out my partner had mounted up £100K of debt, I bought him out of our house and he moved out. He was made bankrupt in March.
I applied for a credit card recently and was declined - is this the reason. My previous credit rating was fine. Can I get this removed from my address and credit file.

Hiya, sorry I can't be a great deal of help but I would definately start by getting a copy of your credit file from experian ( http://www.experian.co.uk ). It'll give you a better idea of how your credit file looks as there are loads of reasons they may have declined you. It'll also show any links to your partner that are still on there which you may be able to get removed if you are no longer together.0

As the other posters have said you need to get the information on the credit reference agencies files corrected to show that you are not associated with your ex anymore.
Check this article out on reasons you may have been turned down & how to apply for your credit files to ensure they are correct
