Everything set up but so impatient!!!

Does anyone else feel the same?

I just feel like my life is on hold until I can get this debt off my shoulders?

It's reducing every month - £2002 as of today! Have approx £500 per month to throw at debts so around 4months left to go. I am paying every penny I physically can. I have budgeted for every penny for the next 3months. There is no longer any wiggle room in my SOA! I've cut everything I can, I can't reduce any of my outgoings. My standing orders are all set up and my budget is fixed and I know exactly what I can spend and when. I can't increase my income anymore (I am a single parent of two young children already claiming the maximum childcare element and have literally sold every spare item in my house although as we speak I am currently eyeballing the house top to bottom looking for anything I can put on eBay).

How do you get through this without going insane? I was coping before as was doing everything I could to get rid of the debt but there is nothing I can do now except wait and the wait is killing me!

I feel your pain. I'm at £1885, standing orders all set up into their individual accounts and now it's a matter of waiting for pay day!

Well done to you both, it is hard but look at how far you have come, and then think about it as ONLY 4 months to go and how much better you will feel and how much more money you will have to do the things you want to do.

After 4 months of payments - so I imagine payday in Sept - you will have the 500 quid in your pocket! Maybe make a plan to spend some of it on a well deserved holiday or treat. I'm sure you'll want to save some, but maybe if you planned a nice weekend away with the kids somewhere fun to celebrate you'd be looking forward to it more rather than being impatient! You can also fill some time by looking for bargains!

Congratulations on your achievements so far and enjoy the little things for free til you're back in the black.

In a similar position but all of my spare cash is going towards a house deposit, so I'm hardly spending anything either. I went through a phase of buying expensive gadgets I didn't really need and kicking myself now thinking about how much I could have had saved!!

No point dwelling on it though, well all get there :D

Im like you but all my spare money is being eaten up with kids birthdays and leaking pipes in the loft dripping through the ceiling :( lol

But i have tried to sort my budget out till July and see whether i can clear all my debt by the 25th of July rather than Oct :o My amount seems so little, but it also seems so hard to find this cash spare!

It does make you go insane doesn't it, but the feeling after will be worth it all :)
  • Can't offer any words of wisdom I'm afraid. I totally agree that the last few months are the hardest. The waiting game was a nightmare.

    I feel your pain.

  • Thanks everyone

I guess before I always felt like I was doing something as there were changes I could make but now all I can do is sit and wait.

  • It is a killer. Feeling the same - although got a tad longer than you on the countdown.

How about spending some time making extra cash, like selling stuff or doing those survey websites.

That would a) give you some MSE stuff to do/think about and b) could end up in a bit of extra cash.

well done on what you've done so far
