CSA error their fault

My 2nd child was born in 2007 and I have now been told that despite me contacting them at the time there has been an error and they have not added him to my claim. I have been told that it should have manually been sorted but has not and might not actually get sorted. I am now 6 years without payment for 2nd child only getting maintenance for my 1st child.
What can I do and do I have a chance of getting anything back?

complain! get your file, look at what has happened, get the CSA to explain in detail what has happened (this might be easier said than done but worth a try) and complain through appropriate channels. You should then involve your MP as well. This is a CSA error then they should rectify it - but you will need to shout about it.0

Sounds like you need to request a copy of your case file- which will cost a tenner.
Do you have any evidence yourself that you informed them in 2007?
And do your kids have the same dad - and if so, has he been paying?0
