Sorry for your behaviour is totally inappropriate. If you couldn't call, then your boyfriend should have. What was his excuse for not doing so? Also, isn't HE being disciplined? Surely one of you should have known that calling anytime during that day was better than not at all?

As for the tickets, I find it quite suspicious that you would have any issue with sharing them with your employer. Surely you are desperate to show them that your missing work was totally genuine?

I know for a fact that unless I had been dying, I would have been calling, but if whatever reason I hadn't, I would have brought the tickets, receipt of medicine bought, pictures of me looking like death on my bed immediately upon my return rather than wait to be asked.

If you don't see how wrong your response to this event is, then you are likely to struggle with any future employer.

Anything like my work and they would have tried ringing my mobile constantly all day to make sure I was ok and also find out what was happening.

I'm guessing they got a flight back on the day they were supposed to be back at work or as it was a Friday they actually booked the holiday until the Sunday and the phones were switched off due to the flight. If this is not the case it's probably what the company are suspecting hence the request to see the tickets.

So let's put this in context.
You booked 3 days holiday and during your holiday you became ill. You state that you could not make work aware of your illness but you found a way to inform your doctor that you were ill and went to see the doctor on the day after your return.
    Does that not seem odd?
You also failed to notify them the following day, as you only work till 12, is the place closed at 12 or just that you normally only work till 12?
You have a worry with your Bradford score so that suggests that this is not an isolated incident.
You do not have to sign anything you don't want to, but where are you going to walk off to? Back to your desk as if nothing has happened? Out of work and leave your job?
You need to face up to your responsibilities, mitigate your reasons for your actions and salvage what you can from the very little you have. Sorry to sound blunt, but you have not done much to help yourself and it seems on face value that you are looking for a get out of jail card.

The best way forward in these situations is to be honest and talk with your manager, that way gives you some movement in getting things resolved for both parties.

    Phil.

Reading through these messages I think its you and your boyfriend that need to grow up. Life does not work the way you think it does and I suggest unless you grow up and take some responsibility you are both going to struggle to hold a job for the rest of your life.

I think you need to take a good look in the mirror, what you have done is unexcusable and its YOU not your employer that are in the wrong and it is YOUR responsibility to prove your innocence. If you worked for me Id want you out ASAP you are letting your employer down. They are a business, not your school teacher.

Either beg for forgiveness and try to prove your innocence or walk away and try getting a new job. I think you will have burnt a lot of bridges with your behaviour and will find it difficult from now on in!

Not every business is closed on bank holidays.

Heh is it only me not getting that at all. Maybe because I know how not fair they were many times. I can only say that on fridays we work till 12 so there was no point to make a call if i woke up for example at 11: 45. Thanks for every answer :)

Of course there is, professionalism and common courtesy.
