deposit with fees added

Just about to exchange this week and getting a mortgage with Nationwide. Purchase price is £205,000 and we're putting down 15% (£30,750). Because we have had the £900 booking fee added to the mortgage term, does that get taken into account what deposit we should be putting down? (£205,900 = £30,885)

Cheers

No. The fee is added, then taken off the mortgage money paid over to your solicitor in time for completion.

Your deposit remains the same, although the solicitor's fees and stamp duty will need to be added, of course.

  • your solicitor should have sent a statement with a breakdown of deposit, their fees, stamp duty etc. Then they filter the money off to the relevant parties.
