Hi,
Sorry I haven't been on for a long time, not that I ever contributed much! - major family problems.
I have been trying to help son and dil with their debt problems for the last 2 years and have finally (hopefully) got an agreement from the last one - this was an A & L loan taken out balance of which stands at approx £24,000, the debt agency which has been dealing with it & A&L have agreed to accept £12,000 as a full and final settlement.
Our concern is that they say that it would be up to A & L whether they would put a note on son & dil credit file to that effect - they have said that they would state 'that on receipt the remaining balance on the account will not be pursued further by themselves or their clients'
So my question is - does this sound as though it would be okay or should it definitely state that they would add the full & final settlement message?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Lol

I would definitely get something in writing for Alliance & Leicester that states upon receipt of the £12,000 they will not pursue for the balance. I think there is a difference between that and markin gyour credit file as settled in full.
You could always hold out and try to force them to agree on putting the debt down as satisfied in full!Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

try https://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk or the payplan or ccs website. They have details of Full and Final Settlements.
