LGPS - Transfers

I'm currently in the Local Government Pension Scheme with over 20 years of contributions (pre and post 2008). I'm moving to another local goverment employer so was planning to transfer my current pension to my new membership. I believe that the key points for me to consider are:
1. Once transferred, my pension will be entirely paid under the post 2008 rules
2. Any 'protected member' rights will transfer to the new pension
3. I will only get one "death in service" payment (which I hope not to claim!) rather than two if the current pension is deferred.
I hope that my pay will be heading upwards rather than downwards, so I can't see any reason not to transfer unless point 1 above leaves me worse off.
Please can anybody comment on whether I've missed any key points?
Many thanks.
