Cheapish facial regime

I wouldn't use most hot cloth cleansers for break out prone skin, they are incredibly difficult to remove the residue of and are better for dehydrated or ageing skin. Acne is an inflammatory condition as much as an infective one. I'd use a product containing an emulsifier - either a gentle cleansing lotion or an oil containing a polysorbate (can make your blend own up). And a clean muslin cloth every time you cleanse, never reuse. Hot water can irritate sensitive or inflamed skin and cause increased sebum production.
Eucerin 5% urea day cream is very light, a little goes a long way, urea is naturally found in healthy skin and hydrates and encourages natural exfoliation. There is a matching night cream which I have never tried but gets great reviews. Otherwise you could use a moisturiser and physical sunscreen all in one, such as DeVita Body Block - micronised zinc helps calm skin and is naturally antibacterial so helps with breakouts. Again a little goes a long way tho you need to use enough to get the full SPF when you are out and about.
TBH good skin comes from the inside. The balance of fats in your diet dictates the balance of fatty acids in your sebum which in turn affects how easily they clog your pores. Also the balance of fatty acids in the cell membranes which affects how well your skin keeps water in and bacteria/ chemicals out (barrier function). Diet also affects your hormone balance and systemic inflammation which affect sebum production. Be sure you are getting plenty of long chain omega-3s from oily fish and not eating too much omega-6s (ubiquitous in the Western diet) or saturated animal fats.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
For mineral makeup try Lily Lolo - not too pricey and very, very good

One cheap product I can recommend is the SuperDrug vitamin e hot cloth cleanser, it's really good & under £5. No good for removing makeup I use it in the morning.
For a cheap toner lush tree tea toner is good.
For a night time cleanser I like the proper oil, I'm going to try the sanctuary one from boots next or DHC, as shu umerea is very expensive.
Moisturisers, I like Olay regenerists, lush gorgeous & boots p&p. Olay regenerists you can get reasonable on amazon. They do a SPF 30 flawless day cream & syrum & night creams.
For foundation the best ever is No7 intelligent colour, try it!
They also do a great loose powder.
Wait for the 3 for 2 & get 2 foundations & a loose powder ( the powder lasts forever) they do a translucent that suits most.0 -
Oooh that sounds like a lot of effort MrsE! I'm so lazy

Not at all - I just use a different cleaner in the morning to the night time.
Then spritz with a toner.
Then a different moisturiser in the morning to the night time. I use a syrum as well under the moisturiser & a primer under makeup.
But I'm 45 & my skin is damn good :-)0 -
Well today I bought Boots No7 mineral foundation. I had a £5 voucher to use, so ended up paying £8.50.
Also bought Boots Simply Sensitive Moisturizer. I think I need a lighter moisturizer as I think the ones I have been using are a bit too heavy.
Now I just need to find a cheapish concealer & primer.
I am still going to use Boots No7 hot cloth cleanser, mainly because I have just opened one & have another unopened one.
Then I will have a look at other possible cleansers.0 -
I too have used Boots No7 mineral foundation and Boots Simply Sensitive Moisturizer and found both of them to be an ideal choice.0

The No7 foundation seems good, however, I don't think the shade really suits me. It's a bit to yellow for my liking. Unfortunatly it only comes in the one shade.
Might have to try something with a more pinky colour.0 -
I've never tried it myself, but there is a big movement of people cleaning their face with oil and ending up with less oily skin (bizarre but apparently it works?!)

It could certainly be easy on the pocket.0
