My finance company has gone into Administration but I want to return my car, what can I do?
I have had my car over 2 years now and wish to return my car because I cannot afford to run it anymore, so I have tried to contact my finance provider Adams & Sons based in Essex but couldn't get hold of them and the number was dead, I have sent emails and a letter but no response, what can I do? Am I able to return my vehicle as per my original Hire Purchase Agreement?

I would get in touch with their Recievers -

    Duff & Phelps Ltd, 43-45 Portman Square, London, W1H 6LY, Tel: 0207 487 7240
  • and they didn't let you know they were going out of business?!?! were/are you still making payments to them?

The fact that the finance company is in admnistration has no bearing on your obligation to make the payments - the contracts will probably be sold on to someone else by the admnistrator.

With any HP, you can only hand back a car without damaging your credit file if you have made over half of committed payments. If this is the case, then you do what is called a Voluntary Termination.
