Does this happen to other people too?

Just curious, an interview I had on Thursday resulted in the interviewer telling me he was confident I would fit in with the company and that I could probably start Monday (today).
He said he would call me either that Thursday evening or on Friday to arrange my start date. However, I heard nothing and have heard nothing so far today. This is the third time this had happened to me since looking for work and I want to ask should I call the company to find out what's going on or to sit and wait? I don't want to look pushy.

Should have called Friday Afternoon if the person promised Thurs or Friday.

Another ploy before leaving that will give you a better indicator of how serious they are. if not allready done is to asked to be shown around to meet the people you will be working with and where you desk will be.

Yes ! Whilst hoping you've heard by now maybe the interviewer went of sick? had to speak to 'above' first? arrange induction/training suitable to other people within the company first

Don't lose hope - best laid plans and all, it's never to late to check!
Not every interview comes back when they say will - though this can sometimes be a blessing! ; )

Thank you very much for your replies, the company did call me yesterday and I am starting on Monday. I knew there had to be a good reason. The tips were great, next time I am offered a job I will send a thank you email straight away.
