Very happy ending

I went bankrupt in June 2010, discharged June 2011 and from April 2012 I started credit clean up.

What a frustrating business! It's taken me nearly a year. In some cases I had to write to the chief executive of the bank directly to get action.

But I'm glad I did. Halifax gave me £50 compensation and Tesco Bank gave me £100 compensation! And finally my credit record is (near enough) right.

    Very well done.:T:T

Can you tell me how you started and what you had to do as I have never bothered and I went BR in October 2008.

I got my £2 statutory credit report from each of the three agencies. I then wrote a standard letter (cribbed from here) to each of the creditors who hadn't correctly updated my file, i.e. all of them.

And then I wrote again. And again. And, in some cases, again. And I kept checking my credit file.

It drove me crazy. But not bad for £150.

Well done! Like you say, getting the defaults settled / partially settled can be a bit of a headache... I hope you're going to treat yourself to something nice with the £150.00 :T
