I know this is going off topic, but please could you enlighten me as to where you learned that Leisure vouchers were no longer being issued? It surprises me, seeing as the website seems to suggest that they're still being sold to customers. I don't see the business sense in trying to sell gift vouchers that are officially unsellable?!!!

I take "Incentive and Motivation" magazine, a trade publication, and it was announced in there, but there was also a long discussion about it on a previous Pigsback thread. It seems that all vouchers already sold will be honoured, but it does surprise me that PB are still offering them - and as somebody else pointed out, the number of places accepting them is steadily dropping so within a few months they will be worthless anyway.
How sweet it is to do nothing..... and then rest afterwards.

I have some Leisure vouchers I was planning on giving away as Christmas pressies. Will they still be usuable at Christmas, does anyone know?

yes as they will be honoured untill they all come out of circulation so could take years.. they have just stopped printing them and issuing them ..

yes, it looks like its back to business as usual now that Virgin have taken over the Leisure Voucher brand...
The Virgin Voucher and Virgin Experience Days brand licence holder Acorne Ltd has announced the acquisition of Leisure Vouchers from Whitbread PLC.

Leisure Vouchers was set up 16 years ago in order to drive incremental sales into the range of Whitbread brands but it was announced in March 07 that the voucher operation was to close.

Commenting on the acquisition, Paul O’Brien, managing director of Virgin Experience Days and The Virgin Voucher, said: This is great news for Leisure Vouchers clients who will be delighted to see the brand live on and develop. At Virgin we are excited about the opportunity to consolidate our market position with the addition of the Leisure Vouchers brand to our portfolio.

“I want to emphasise that it is very much business as usual for both brands. We have no plans to alter the successful formula of either of these popular vouchers in the foreseeable future.

:money: :j :j this may even mean that the vouchers could be useable in many more places including virgin shops in the future. wish i had found out about the voucher "sale" as well would have bought a few at a reduced price .:T :T :money:

p.s. just sent virgin vouchers an e-m asking about above and will post reply asap.

Lightways, I would imagine not, stocking usually need a suspender belt and hold ups have the rubber underlay thing.

These are the same things just hold up rather than stocking: http://www.tightsplease.co.uk/index.php?page[product]=357

And in a pigsback capacity I've used tights please for other stuff and the piggy points are quick!

    Hope that helps :-)

Thanks Jockett, I got worried then!!! I have £65 worth of vouchers.

Wish I'd know they were selling them at a knock down price. I would have bought a load - I love taking my two girls out to TGI or the Beefeater :)

there wasnt a sale or anything its just if you buy then in bulk from the website or an as my other half works for london transport as an inisative ( know thats not spelt properly) you get a percentage of .. think it might have been 10% so we bought £500 worth and saved £50 would have spent the £500 at the premier lodge hotels anyway..

The % kicks in for every £100 you spend

  • Hello,

I'm about to reach my first ever 1000 points (20 points to go and I'm hoping to get those tomorrow through ct's).

I was wondering which vouchers took the longest to come through and which ones were the quickest, or is everything pretty much the same?

The reason I ask is I because I remember reading on this thread somewhere that people were having to chase for a particular voucher, I think it was Arcadia.

    thanks
    Caz

    have a good day everyone!
