I agree - I now have free Microsoft SE and it's very unobtrusive and efficient. I used to have (paid for) Trend Micro and it really slowed pc, as well as being a bit too much 'in your face'.

I also use M.SE and it is great. However, Trend are also good. Their online Housecall scan is my emergency scan of choice.

(I'm an IT Manager so I've been through them all for my org - Symantec, Sophos, M.SE, Trend....)
