Nowhere does it say anything about having this signed off by an IFA, I just need to complete the forms and send them to my new provider, which leads me to ask how would I know about that without someone like yourself telling me?
Possibly because it's usually the receiving provider that will require it to be signed off by an IFA in case you are making a big mistake and complain later. As it stands, I haven't decided what to do with this pension yet anyway I'm just interested about this IFA signing-off that Diageo haven't told me about, just in case.
Diageo would probably be quite happy for you to transfer.0 -
You may well find that the receiving scheme will not accept transfer of a final salary /db pension unless you can show that you have taken independent financial advice.0

On reflection, I agree, and will probably be leaving it where it is so they won't be quite so happy.
They can always drown their sorrows.....:beer:0 -
one the receiving scheme finds out it is a final salary scheme, they will then tell you about needing an IFA.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
