Try your local carboots, jumble sales and charity shops. If the price is low and the items looks good from a respectable seller then buy !

A second hand "quallity item" is so much better than cheapo modern trash. Most old things were built to last. Modern stuff is built to look good and fail soon - so keeping the demand high ?

I know you're looking for something around £20, but htought I'd put my 2 pence worth in! Last year there was an offer at Tesco Direct for the Russell Hobbs steam generator irons - they were for £49.99 delivered! My wife had been bugging me for a steam generator for ages, so I thought "This is my chance!" Prior to this it was impossible to get them for under £150. I got one for both my mum and wife. They both love it to bits and it makes ironing much quicker too.

The offer is back at Tesco instore - I was in the Leicester Hamilton branch yesterday afternoon and it's priced at £49.97 or so. And it's online too - It's well worth it.
