Thanks, I know they scan at Tesco but I won't be using Somerfield coupons there (or Asda/Sainsburys/Co-op/whatever). I hope most MSEers won't tempted either, the short term gain will cause long term pain just like when R&Rers jumped on the bandwagon & that policy was pulled.

I want to be using coupons in Tesco long-term, and to do that we need to use redeemable ones, then everyone is happy (except the poor manufacturers I suppose who are footing the bill for our shopping).

The only type of other Supermarket ones which are perfectly OK in Tesco are spend & save coupons (conditional on total spend not on a product or range).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • i second that coupon mad please please please dont be tempted to use anything other than non store specific coupons in tesco, as you are shooting yourself in the foot, one store near me has clamped down on coupons big time because i was told some muppet has been using sainsburys coupons out of the magazine
dont wait for your boat to come in, get in a dingy and row out to it!!!
  • Totally agree.

My Tesco had a strict 10% policy for a long time and its only been the last few months that they have relaxed it. If someone came in with loads of dodgy coupons, I am quite sure they would change it back as they don't seem all that keen on letting you use one of each anyway!

Please don't use anything but non store specific coupons in Tesco that they CAN redeem or you might spoil it for others as well as yourself.

Don't know if Mitchell & Butlers are doing this at all the Toby Carveries, but the price for the carvery is now £3.99.
This £5.00 voucher gets you just a carvery and icecream sundae, where by if you don't use the voucher, you can get a for an additional £1.00 , soup or melon to start, icecream sundae for dessert or a coffee, or they will knock a quid off any other starter or dessert.
We went out last night and the girl was actually explaining to customers not to use the voucher as they were not as good value as the actual new carvery prices

    Hope this helps...

First post has been updated with a new WHSmith coupon: £5 worth of points wys £20 in store. Happy shopping :)

I have given up now and gone back to buying my mags from Tesco , hopefully getting some MOCs used up at the same time. I tried to use one at the Broughton WHSmiths a couple of months ago but when it would not scan the supervisor rang HQ up and they gave her a list of every date when I had used a points voucher before

So much hassle I have given up now, the extra points were great while they lasted though.
