Ooo, no, from what I remember, More used to be a bit explicit - 'position of the fortnight', fiction in the style of 'and then the hunky delivery man got into the lift with me' and so on. I'd say it was aimed at the 16-21 market (although this was a few years ago, so if anyone knows it's different now, feel free to say so).
Has your daughter tried Sugar magazine? That would probably be a safe bet for that age (lots of girlie swooning over Robert Pattison). You can get the gist of it from their website:

Just brought a copy of Boogeyman 3 on dvd and inside is a subscription offer to Gorezone Magazine for 12 issues at £20. It doesnt say about the offer on the cover but a subscription is normally £40. I brought the dvd new off Amazon for £5 so saved £15.00, excellant.:beer:0

My daughter is 17, almost 18 - before I first let her buy this mag I vetted it first as I remember it how you say, its nowhere near as bad now and although they still do position of the week its now posed with barbie dolls! She gets it for the fashion mainly as its one of the best mags for fashion for her age. Definitely wouldn't buy for her if she were 12, think she was about 16 when she started reading it.
She used to buy Sugar for years, but grew out of that a couple of years ago.0 -
Thanks for all the replies, I think we'll try sugar. She's had Girl talk for a few years and outgrown it. I definatly don't think she's ready for More yet!! It's so difficult knowing wht to get as she's more grown up than I was at her age, but I don't want her to grow up too fast.0

Sorry, for being a bit off topic, but does anyon know the age range of this magazine? I have a daughter who is nearly 12 and is looking for a new magazine.
Hee hee me and my mates used to read this when we were about 16 and also had to hide it from our parents!
but that was 15yrs ago!!!!0 -

Glad to help - and thanks to everyone for the further info on More mag.I used to read Sugar occasionally even when I was older than the target market. I liked how it seemed quite sweet (excuse the pun) and innocent and well-intentioned. I mean, I'm sure they do still address sexual issues etc. (remember the thrill of reading teen mag problem pages with your mates?
) but it was educational rather than salacious. Also used to be good on bargain make-up and clothes (recognising the limited budget of older kids / teens) and often had a free (age-appropriate) fashion or make-up gift.
I was mainly a Jackie / Just 17 reader in my pre-teen / teenage years.0 -
I used to love Just Seventeen too- did they stop making it a few years back? it was J17 but aimed itself at 11-15s rather then 15-19's.
There are also US mags like Teen Vogue and I think a Teen Elle of some sort.
Also, weekly mags like Heat, Now, Look, the Enquirer...etc seem to be popular with that age group.0 -
Ah, yes, I remember seeing that Just Seventeen had morphed into J17 - I don't know if it's still going though. Bring back Jackie!0
