Many thanks! Wonder if they have it at Birmingham airport? We seem to be missing out on all the good WH Smith offers here.:(

I rang my local store (Southport) and asked if they had it in WITH the free make-up pallette and she said yes, so I repeated with the pallette and she said yes.

So made my way into town purely for the mag and..... it's there but NO BLEEDING PALLETTE... they have not heard of it even though I rang them.... not impressed!

  • This is too late now, but for future reference, the Glamour magazine offer was available from WHSmith in London terminal train stations, but not in the high street.
A SA wearing L'oreal tee came up to me to promote the offer. She show me the different palettes and advice which one is good for my skin tone. She was so nice.

    Hi guys,

I’m drafting a note on using coupons and I would love some feedback from the experts.

Bit confused about whether coupons from the following magazines will scan in other supermarkets, not just the magazine specific one. And do they work on products they’re not designed for?

    - Tesco magazine

    - Asda magazine

    - Somerfield magazine

    - Morrisons magazine

    - Superdrug magazine

If you want to look at the note I’ve drafted, it’s here. This is just a rough version, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Could anything be improved?

    Thanks very much!

Jenny - The ones from specific store magazines, will only work in that store when buying the specific product, unless the coupon is a NSS 99 barcoded coupon, in which case it will then work in any store. So basically if the coupon is from, say, asda magazine and the coupon has only Asda written on it, it will only work in Asda.
Usually though there is some "glitch" in the Tesco magazine, where a tesco only coupon will also work on another product. This usually gets reported on here. But could be conceded as not in the spirit IYSWIM. HTH

Also, where you have mentioned the tesco and asda magazine it needs to be pointed out clearly that these can only be used on the products listed and in that store. (although there may be glitches with different products in tesco). Maybe a link to the magazine thread, as this is where you find out where coupons are and what magazine is a good buy (cost versus coupons)? And is usually the best way to get a good lot of coupons with multiple buys!

Its quite hard to get your head round barcodes but that is usually how you can tell if they'll work in any store and how much they will go through for. As I said ^ a barcode beginning with 99 is a standard UK barcode and will work in any store, and the last 4 digits will tell you how much it is worth, eg ending 1500 will scan at £1.50, the last digit is ignored. If it ends 0000, then the SA will have to enter the amount its worth.
