Oh well - guess I will have some luxury free yogurts instead then!!

Thanks for letting us all know.:j

Don't forget everyone, if you actually buy the free yogurt you should be able to use 2 duplicate coupons according to Tesco coupon policy (i.e. one redeemed against the product and one extra). Assuming it scans without buying the product that is - this doesn't work with Tesco logo coupons, only nss ones.

You'd have to buy a few other bits too though as Tesco won't pay you to buy it, but at least there would be no denying how much the coupon is worth is you've bought one product and want to use 2 of these coupons against your shopping each time.

Just so it's clear, if you bought, say, 4 products you could use 5 of the coupons, etc (always one extra which comes off your shopping bill). Unless you get the jobsworth who doesn't know or care about their supposed policy!

  • Someone has just sent me a pm asking how to read the different coupons.

I have replied to them but thought I would post it on here also as there may be others who are confused by it.

I am posting this in regards to the coupons we get in the magazines so trying to stay on topic!

Its quite easy to read the coupons, there are only two versions to look out for that we need to know about.

Normally, if a barcode starts "99" and ends something like this: "01507" then you take the three digits before the last one, ie 150 and thats the price the coupon is worth in pence so that coupon is worth £1.50.
These can normally be used in most supermarkets unless they have a big logo on them with a certain supermarket, then, even though it starts with 99, you will usually have to buy that specific product in that store when using it. Ie, 50p off Tesco weetabix can only be used in Tesco.

If the coupon states "can be used at all independant retailers" etc, then it can usually be used in all the big supermarkets like Tesco, Asda, Waitrose etc, and these will be reffered to as NSS which just means non store specific.

Second coupon has "000" as the three preceding digits and it means the cashier has to input the price manually. Normally, you do have to buy the product for this coupon. I have a Colmans sauces coupon with the "000" on it but, it does state on the coupon that it is worth up to 81p so the cashier (if shes friendly) could input 81p without you buying any sauces (which I have done a few times!)

The trouble with the coupon in woman is it is "000" But, there is no price on the coupon so the cashier has no idea what it is worth and would have to send someone off to check. When you are trying to stay under the radar, that particular coupon should be avoided unless you are buying the yoghurts :)

Hope this helps any others out there who didn't know about the different versions :)
