Cambridge Diet Step 2 - Advice/Help needed!

Good morning all,

I'm starting the CD today - step 2, and was looking for some info from anyone who has been on it before.

I'm currently 13st 1lb & 5 foot 8, hoping to get down to nearer 12st by 25th May.

I'm very fussy which is going to make dinner times a little bland, the only foods i like from the protein list are cod & chicken. I was wondering how people cook these as cannot use certain products & what i could possibly add to give more flavour? I don't like spices, which would make it easier! Also going to struggle on the veg/salad side as what i like isn't on the list :p

I am really determind to try stick this out for a few weeks and try my best with it including trying new foods.

Would appreciate any assistance!

Thanks in advance :)

  • Herbs - rosemary and sage go very well with chicken, parsley goes well with cod.

Maybe this is a chance to try spices or some new foods? ;) Spices don't always have to be hot, they include things like coriander which is very mild.

Fab thank you! :T I do want to try more things so this is a good opportunity to do so as there are limitations.

    Hi Ant :)

Have you had a look at the different plans or are you going to speak to your rep and see what she suggests? How much weight are you looking to lose?

I'm currently trying different shakes/soups and working out which ones i like best. So far chocolate is def the best one..! Potato & leek soup was quite nice today too.

    Afternoon
I've had a look and i like the idea of Step 1B .. Purely for the fact I love cooking (and clearly eating) and think i will stay more focused if i have an evening meal to look forward to and to keep me busy looking up and making recipes for 200kcal :)

Im 5'8 and 14 stone. I would like to get down to 13 stone to start with and see how I go. I was a consistent and happy 10 stone for a few years but met my partner nearly sevens years ago and put on 4 stone in four years .. luckily stayed at 14 otherwise i would be 17 stone now :rotfl:

Ah so we're pretty similar then :)

I definately need to learn how to cook more! I'm not too adventurous like that. But i make a mean shepherds pie which i'm going to miss :p

You will probably lose quite quickly being on Step 1 plus, I thought Step 2 would be the easiest to try but may go down to Step 1 if don't find this one too difficult so i can try get some of the bulk off!

The rep will also take your measurements too. And it's really nice having it one-to-one, much more of a personal experience!

Yeah I believe the first consultation is free but not sure what the costs are after that of if I go back weekly/ monthly?

How is your day two going? and mind if i ask what you have and plan to have today?
I love food, i love cooking and i love making up new ideas and tweaking recipes :)

Last night for dinner I had some turkey pieces & cucumber - joys of being fussy, I'm sure your dinners will be more exciting :)

I think there's a £10 joining fee but I know the woman I signed up with so she waived it. No other fees & each sachet is £2. On your first visit you'll get a shaker flask, magazine, & booklet giving you detailed info on each of the steps with what you're allowed.

On day 4 & not feeling too good - think its the ketosis kicking in! Feeling a little weak & have a bad headache. Have been reading lots of reviews before I started so was kind of expected!

When do you start this week? Xx
