I like proper jacket potatoes and those by McCain where you put potatoes in the microwave for 5 mins with thick skin are fab (only bought them when they were on offer) but £1.50-£2 for 4 seems too much.
I know I can do my own, but does anyone know how long to cook them in the oven, how long to cool down before putting them in the freezer? I will be wrapping them in foil.
I probably can do them for 30-60p for 4, depending on the cost of the spuds and the size of the bag.

Cook in the top of a preheated oven at 230°C, 450°F, gas mark 8 for 1 hour. If you like your potato crisp on the outside, remove the foil after 30 minutes. It is ready when it gives when pressed.
I'd let them cool down completely before putting them in the freezer. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

I normally give them a minute or two in the microwave first, just to save having the main oven on so long.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Delia Smith has a good "microwave/oven" method. Stab the spud and wrap it in a paper towel. Zap it in the microwave for 5 minutes. This cooks it from the inside out, but does nothing for the skin. Then use the paper towel to wipe the spud with oil. Then finish it off in a medium oven for 10 to 15 minutes. This effectively fries the skin.
I find that this method gives a reasonable result, in a reasonable time and using a reasonable amount of energy. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

I nuke them til soft then rub them with oil and slat and bung in the oven on as hot as it will go. I think if you wanted them specifically for freezing you could do the nuking bit then freeze them. I would think they would need to be defrosted before oveining unless they were cut into boats then perhaps 20mins?0
