Well, as fatbelly has said, a CCJ is not the end of the world, and may never happen.
How much do you owe in total?

Between me and hubby, we owe £30k in total. We both have jobs where it is seriously frowned upon to be bankrupt and dh would definitely lose his job if this became the case. We also can't risk losing our home, etc.
To be honest, we are on a payment plan with CAB and it works pretty well, majority of our creditors are happy that we are paying towards our debts (all be it not vast amounts of money,) apart from this one of mine, TBI who are really putting the frighteners on me.
I am also worried that if a ccj is the route they take, can a court make us bankrupt when they see how much we owe other creditors??0 -
What jobs are they if you dont mind me asking, how long does it compute it will take to pay off, I am worried about only paying 250 a month to a 37k debt0

I would rather not disclose the jobs on a forum, but we will never be debt free for the foreseeable.0

None of the numbers you have listed are that bad as a couple, compared to many. They are comparable to how I was back in 2008.
When you say 'foreseeable' - what is your debt free date based on the current repayment schedule?
Are you underpaying?Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.0 -
A SAR does not prevent them doing anything.
May best to also use letter here: Getting information about your credit agreement
They are the ones putting the pressure on, so you are entitled to see what documents they have to back up their threats.
You say that this was from 1994 and sold on in 2007. Did you make payments through that period without a gap of 6 years? I presume so, but have to check.
Maybe the SAR does not stop them doing anything, however I said for the OP to make a request as they had stated that there was a lot of penalty charges. These can be potentially claimed back and with interesst it could amount to a significant size and may come close to wiping the debt. Thet would only be able to find out what the charges are by making a SAR request.0 -
OP was your CCA enforceable? If it wasn't then this would prevent further action via legal enforcement.0
