Holland Barrett

Has anyone else noticed how Holland and Barrett restock their stores ?
Its just a set of big crates that contain a myriad of jars, in no particular order that appear to have been dumped into the crates.
It strikes me as rather strange that such a large and reputable company would have their products delivered in this way.
To a suspiscious mind it could appear that they are selling placebos as all their products are arriving in the same crate in no particular order.
I spoke to at least 2 staff about this and they confirmed this was the usual way in which deliveries of new stock were received.

You'll need to define placebo. Nothing that H&B sells needs a prescription.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

What a really strange assumption.
I've walked past my local Tesco Express when deliveries are underway and they get labelled barcoded caged trolleys which are piled high with a mix of stuff.
Tills update stock levels and it's more likely that the system does the ordering than some already overworked assistant manager.0 -
fairly standard method of restocking a store . I dont know why you would single out Holland & Barret as being different.
Stock would be delivered by a supplier into a central holland & barret warehouse , from where it is split up and put into cages/crates for forwarding to stores0 -
Not quite sure whats wrong with the way H&B get the stock delivered, i bet a picker will pick certain quantities of vitamins and put them in a crate, do the same for supplements.
If it works for them then thats good.0 -

To simplify, when the till scans an item the order warehouse receives this. The store receives the stock it sold to maintain the levels.
Retail has worked this way since JSainsburys started the sabre system to the best of my knowledge.
And if you think you are buying a placebo then stop!Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
What a peculiar assumption to make, but made me chuckle so not bad for a Monday morning!
Shops restock from their company warehouses in the same manner staff restock the shelves - they only take what they need!!
If they sell 5 of one item, should they have to order 100 to restock or do they have to sell everything before they can restock and risk running out?!0 -
What a weird post!! :rotfl:“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

That is exactly how many retail pharmacies receive orders, daily deliveries of a few items of each of many product not bulk outers. They aren't a large supermarket, they probably don't have a massive onsite warehouse and they do carry a lot of stock lines in small containers. Each crate should have it's own invoice tho, which is fine until some newbie decides to mix up six or eight crates .... :eek:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
