Wrong sales order amount from car dealer
Options
Hi all would appreciate some advice please,
yesterday i went and signed for a 12month old car from a main dealer
as is prob the norm when it came to the paper work the salesman was very quick etc said this is what you will pay please sign the order form.
Anyway the amount on the order is wrong it is a £1000 more than the screen price on the forecourt and the dealers web site.
Does this null and void the order !
not trying to get out of buying the car but there are a few things that i am not happy with on the order.
Cheers in advance
Steve
And yes i know i should have looked closer!

Sadly you signed a contract, that is what will stand up in court, not the invitation to treat (the advertised price). Is the extra £1000 the finance fee?I'm a qualified accountant but please make sure you get expert advice as any opinion is made in a private capacity.

Thanks for the reply
no the extra 1000 comes from the car being charged at the pre event price they have this weekend.
ie friday to monday 1000 off screen prices so the car is on the internet at say 2000 with an event price of 1000 if that makes sense
they have charged the 2000
no credit forms signed so section 57 is one avenue i believe and also surley they cannot sell at the higher price! if a lower price is in the public domain0 -
surely u read the figures if nothing else before signing
have u paid full or just a deposit0 -
lets just say its been a long hard week! very small deposit0

Unbelievable.0

on both counts i know, cannot believe i did it but these things happen but for a main dealer to slip that in is equally as unforgivable do you not think.0

Have you spoken to the salesman?
Maybe it's a genuine mistake on his part.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
not yet will be going in this am will see what happens seems a big mistake though!0

Could be a genuine mistake, from experience being a main dealer salesman many moons ago it's difficult to remember the exact screen price of all forecourt cars, especially if it is a promotional weekend.
I'd pop in and see him with a print out from the web, show him that and the price on the display board in the car and tell him that is the price you will be happy to purchase at.
