in Cutting tax
I received a letter from the compliance unit in February 2013, rang them to confirm my records were wrong (whilst self employed), they advised there would be no penalty but I would have to repay the tax and would write to me within two weeks to confirm the amount.
Now, I assume they would write to me even if I had nothing to pay so I am trying to find out how to contact them again. I have lost the letter so don't know which number I rang and can't find a contact number for this unit on their website. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

They are loads of compliance units.why don't you try the normal helpline and ask.
Or just wait until they write to you again?0 -
In my days at HMRC if an Enquiry was open the Enquiry Officer’s name and contact details were recorded on the S A system so a phone call to the Self assessment helpline should get you the details.

Because I now work in an environment (Council Tax) where I advise customers that if you haven't received your post it doesn't mean we haven't written to you - mainly when they get a reminder/summons. If I'm expecting something and haven't received it then surely it's right to chase it up, but thanks for your input.
I will try the self assessment unit like the post above suggests.0 -
Update in case it may help anyone in the future... I rang the self assessment helpline who then confirmed that my case had been resolved the day before. They confirmed the amount I needed to pay and it's now resolved.0
