Not had chance to visit for a while. Family life and all that !!

But in answer to getting a bank account - we were in the same position a few years back. The Nat West helped us out in the end, but not without a battle. Our O.R. sent confirmation direct to the bank via fax, the bank had to send off details to the office which deals with new accounts. We then were refused but I kept visiting the bank for updates, the girls in the bank were great (even got the hankies out for me - tough at the time), they rang the head office a few times and in the end they were told it was a branch decision and luckily for us they said yes. We had to open a solo account without a cheque book and no overdraft. It is hard but you get used to it. I now have a budget to work to for each month. Some months are easier then others but just keep with it. GOOD LUCK
  • we already have a basic bank account with tsb so were hoping they may let us keep that one . ive opened up post office accounts as well.

someone said nationwide were good but theres only one in our city! will try them tomorrow i think.

Well done MID, so pleased for you.

If you are looking for a bank account try the Co-op too. They have a backlog of applications but the account comes with an Electron card so its worth giving it a go. Plus you can pay money in at any post office.
