Stressed out Panicking.

I have successfully obtained a new job, which requires a credit check.

Which is all good except I put a notice of correction via Equifax as Halifax still had an old account showing as active rather than closed.

Anyway I got an email that it was sorted and notice of correction would be removed after 24 hours. (This was January, never thought to check it)

It is still there and what's worse is the wording:

"NOTICE OF DISPUTE - THE INDIVIDUAL CONCERNED HAS DISPUTED THE ACCURACY OF THE INFORMATION REGISTERED AT THIS ADDRESS AND WE HAVE NOW CONTACTED THE SUBSCRIBER CONCERNED. CARE SHOULD THEREFORE BE TAKEN WHEN USING THE DATA AT THIS ADDRESS TO ASSESS THE CREDITWORTHINESS OF THE INDIVIDUAL CONCERNED"

It makes me sound like I am calling myself untrustworthy.

Equifax said it will be a week for it be removed, do you think this will cost me my job? The company use a 3rd party company to do all the employee checks, should I speak to them so they know what it mean?
Bad luck breeds bad luck.

Damn I'm doomed.

  • That just sounds to me that anyone credit rating you should be careful to not use this mark in a negative way.

I would say you should be ok but only the employers can you tell you definitively.

Four interviews to get the job, I will be fuming if I don't get it over something so stupid.
