I have a svings account (currently empty as I ampaying off cards grrrr) and a current accoutn with a switch card. usually everything goes through my current account and i pay for things with cash and sometimes on my card (which is dangerously easy if you ask me!).
I have just opened another account with my bank; a cash card, instant access one so that on payday I can work out whats available to spend on food, goin out, my cats etc and put that in the cash card account as my spending money and just try and never touch my other account. This card doesnt have a debit card so I have to withdraw cash if I want it.
Does anyone else do this? I am new to all this but think it might work for me! Any thoughts?
I have three current accounts (I work for the Bank though, so all staff accounts!) and a saving account. And I use them all online so I can always see what is where.
Helps me loads. One is for joint house bills (but in my name), one is for my own bills - mortgage, gym, insurance and the third is spending. A SO goes out from the salary account on paydy and that way I cant cheat.0 -
I keep just 2 accounts my barclays current account and a halifax account with a passbook, my wages go into my current acc and any other money such as child benefit or tax credits goes into the other i choose a passbook especially as i can only withdraw during banking hours and most times im at work so i withdraw about once a week and can keep an eye on whats coming and going.0
