    EDit. I think other fruits like apples,pears and toms also emit ethylene gas

    yes bananas make all the other fruits go ripe quickly.....that's what banana hangers are for :D......except in my house the banana hanger is a light for the dartboard:o......my OH invented it :rotfl::rotfl:

    There you go, stick your hard plums either side of a banana and you're sorted.

    David. Meant to say that you might have enjoyed whoopsies tonight...they had a load of planted hanging baskets for 25p down fro £5. All they needed was a bit of water:)
