I posted on this thread last night about the 3 for £10 razors. I can see the multibuy and £5 price for Gillette Fusion Power Razor Silver Touch on msm but when I click on the item it says £14 no multibuy so no way of knowing what price it will scan at or compare to.
There's definitely something up on MSM. On a.com, I have Aussies, Head & Shoulders, JFs, the Clairols (of which some may well still be triggers) and the manual version of this item (which isn't pictured on MSM) in the 3 for £10 offer, but, on MSM, I did have the Aussies showing separately, in one 3 for £10, of just 27 items (all Aussie) and the Head and Shoulders, JFs in a different 3 for £10 about fifteen minutes ago, but now MSM, logged in and out, has the Aussies and the H&S/JFs in the same 3 for £10 offer, just one offer now. Confused:mad:.
When I search for "Gillette Fusion Power Razor Silver Touch" on MSM, it comes up with the power version of this product (with the orange strip bottom right, where it says "Power"), it shows it as the only Gillette item in A and has £14.00 on screen - this matches with the A price (and the price for others, including S at £6.49) when I go into the detailed comparison on this item.
However, when I go to the JFs/H&S (and now, since the last few minutes, the Aussies) and click on "3 for £10", it has this power product showing with "£5.00 any 3 for £10.00", but when I add it to my basket (from the screen showing the £5.00 and the offer pricing) it transfers at £14.00 (this matches the information that comes up on the detailed comparison of the product, and shows comparison to Sains, and others, at £6.49 valid until 30/4).
The manual version (without the orange) is not on MSM - but its price is the £5.00 any 3 for £10.00 showing on the overview on MSM, but that's appearing - only in the display of the products within the offer on MSM - with the power version product (which is transferring into the basket at £14.00 from that overview screen, the detailed comparison on it saying £14.00 for A and not £5.00/any 3 for £10.00).
I have decided the manual version - which isn't showing on MSM and may be a 'trigger' - together with two of the £7 each JFs. Now here's another mystery - when I have just 2x JF in my basket, T is cheapest at £8.00 (its any 2 for £8.00) with A on £14.00 (2x £7, you have missed the multibuy). Sains is one 2x £5.99 (on some its 2x £6.99 as that's the correct actual price in Sains.) But add to the basket, whether from the "3 for £10.00" page, or the £14.00 comparison page (or the £14.00 showing on overview when the Gillette Silver product is searched for by that search term - and it's the power version), and A is on £28 total and, suddenly, Sains is now significantly cheaper than T.
So is it a Sains comp or a T one? The power razor isn't in the offer instore (according to a.com) it is £14 straight. The manual version is the one in the 3 for £10 offer (possible mix and match with JF/Heads and Shoulders/Aussie/Andrew Barton products - this being for normal people not considering any APG behind things) - the manual Silver Touch isn't appearing (in the sense of pictured) on MSM (although its pricing seems to have been captured, on one screen only, for the power one) and, if it works, may act as a trigger - but is it then the 2 JFs £7 x2 at A vs T 2 for £8, or is it the power version (which you haven't bought) and the two JFs at £5.99 for Sains (more expensive on those JFs than vs T, but the power razor being included - wrongly - in the comparison would make S, overall, on the 3 items, much cheaper than T and actually around £10 difference, meaning free and probably paid for getting the three items (2 of which may the same JF, and one razor).
Would be even better if it could have been T at £6.49 for the razor (or even £4.99 on the incorrect one being picked up whilst the m'buy not being recognised) and 2 for £8 on the JFs - rather than T more expensive on the razor but 2 for £8 (i.e. cheaper - 2x£7 (£14) vs that £8) on the JFs. If the razor fails to appear at all, it's this last setup, but if the razor appears (at £14), it's then razor 14 vs 6.49 S plus 2x £7 vs 2x £5.99 (or 2x £6.99 or 5.99+6.99 if you bought in A a more expensive JF at S).
I've identified seven different JFs in A that are £7 each, in the offer, and which are comparable both to T and to S - to T at 2 for £8 and S at £5.99 each. That seems the best - as the JF individual price of £7 is the highest within the 3 for £10 items for A. Quite what would happen I don't know - the worst is that the multibuy gets recognised - 3.33 adjusted price for each (3.34 for one of the 3 to make £10) - vs Sains 6.49 (or somehow £4.99?)+5.99+5.99 and T's more expensive razor price plus 2 for £8. By you buying the manual, which isn't on MSM, but it coming back wrongly as the power and picking up the multibuy when mixed with two £7 JFs.
The two razors - power and manual - are surely two different products and the barcodes for each will differ, so it shouldn't pick up the power version unless that's been bought - surely the manual would fail to appear? Leaving the JFs at £7 each vs T £8 total. Or, we hope, the manual turns into a £14 item and compares the whole 3 items £14+2x £7 vs Sains £6.49+5.99+5.99 (even though 5.99 x2 is more than 2 for £8 T price on those two) - overall this would be better even though the S price of the two JFs is £4 more expensive than the T multibuy price on them.
Do you think this is a T comp. or an S comp? I might just mix my other items, including those slightly more expensive at T, when getting the at least 8, as, even if they lose something, the overall £14 vs £8 is still a lot more. I might just do a normal shop (in most people's sense of normal) for a change. Except for the 2 JFs and 1 manual silver touch razor (3 for £10 instore) with whatever else I need to buy and discover what happens. (Sorry - I'm not listing the 7 JFs at present, as I'm trying to work out my own shopping and I could do with a shop costing just into double figures then putting me back to £4.00 or £0.00 and the six or ten pound APG then going on the next shopping trip for the other few items I need that I didn't compare vs S or T (sorry I'm comparing again, not doing normal shops!), such as the items extracted to go only vs M's!0 -
Woooohhh... that's a lot Savvy!:rotfl: (And all of a sudden.)
