Well time for bed me thinks - DH has my car tomorrow (his failed his MOT on brakes so they are being done while he is at work).

Omg would never have agreed to it if I 'd known that Tesco wine offer would be on again  I couldn't get out on the first day last time either - altho TBH I have enough from wine PP last time and meal deal. (Have reduced my wine consumption - still not lost any weight though). Just getting slightly addicted me thinks ....:)

  • SUPERMARKET titan TESCO plans a new assault on Britain’s convenience store market as it prepares for a “multi-channel” future.

Boss Phil Clarke yesterday revealed the store chain has a staggering 830 sites in its development pipeline across the UK.
And the vast majority will be smaller Tesco Express stores, of which some 150 will open over the next year — a rate of one every two-and-a-half days.
Many will be built with collection points where customers can pick up goods ordered online.
Tesco already has 1,500 Express stores across the country.
Mr Clarke said it was too soon to say how many of the 830 potential sites will be built. But he revealed: “The focus of our new store space will be convenience. It’s still a fragmented market.”
The plans are just the latest sign supermarkets see convenience as the key battleground. MORRISONS wants to open 100 smaller stores this year. WAITROSE sees the potential for 300 of its “Little Waitrose” stores across the country.
Tesco’s plans come as it turns its back on hypermarkets.
Results yesterday revealed it has scrapped plans for more than 100 larger stores, triggering an £800million bill that was partly to blame for its huge 51 per cent fall in annual profits.
Mr Clarke said the new Tesco would focus on serving customers “however and whenever” they want.

He added that the incredible rise of the smartphone had transformed a grocery market that was dominated by hypermarkets a decade ago.
The CEO said: “We called an end to the space race a year ago. We are not going to open as many larger stores and that’s all a consequence of the fact we are moving into an era of multi-channel retailing.
“At the moment eight per cent of our sales in the UK are online.
“I don’t know how big it will be but I am positioning this company so it is ready to take all of it when it comes.”
Before its charge for exiting the US, profits fell 51 per cent to £2billion.
Worldwide sales were £72.4billion — up 1.3 per cent.
Mr Clarke added. “Today is bittersweet. On the one hand you have to explain that profits are down — but on the other the UK business is better than it has been for years.”
    Sun City comment

SMALL is beautiful for the biggest supermarket around and it’s all part of the new Tesco masterplan.
Phil Clarke is positioning Tesco for a future where online will explode. Convenience stores will be critical as “top up” shops — but also as drop-off points in towns and cities for all those orders placed over the web.

Logie, you sound like you're still having a rough time :( the breathlessness sounds worrying. Your OH is right to be concerned. It's good you got the help you needed today though, just keep accepting all the help thats offered to you and asking for more if you need it.

sorry that sounded like a lecture :o just concerned for you :A

Think I just didn't realise quite how little I was doing in the hospital :o That was the reason I felt better. I'm fine when I'm sat on my bum doing nothing ;)

I'm on antibiotics, antifungals and antivirals as well as the usual meds :D so most bases should be covered with my chest infection :p Just taking my body longer to recover because of the strain of the chemo.

I've got things organised for tomorrow already and set up a relay with MIL, Mum and sis to make sure i've got help all day. Honestly hate asking for so much help but hopefully won't be for much longer
♥ Worrying does not empty tomorrow of it's troubles.... it empties today of it's strength ♥
