Please help.

I have just applied for a payday loan with CFO in a moment of madness. They stated I have been accepted and will call back. Now after reading all the horror stories I want to cancel. I am worried now they will empty bank account come pay day. Can I now cancel and what can I do to stop them draining my account.

Please help.

well what does the t&c's say with regards to canceling as that might prove useful.

Surely that should be "what did the T&Cs say ..." as the OP will have noticed when he read them before agreeing to them.

The horror stories you allude to are almost all in relation to people who break their agreements and do not repay the loan as and when agreed. That's when these companies adopt questionable (though, by and large, not unlawful) tactics to get their money back.

Can you recall back that far and remember who you applied with?

    http://www.cfoloans.com/
    http://www.cfolending.com/

If it is the first one, the aplication simply asks you for your phone number and they will call you to scam you.
the next step is up to you, they DO NOT have your bank details so CANNOT take your money. the ONLY way they can take your money is if you give out your bank details.

The T&C's link simply reloads the Hompage.

If it is the second outfit

I suspect it is the first bunch of scammers, the ball is in your court OP. If you believe what these crooks tell you over the phone and give out your bank details, you WILL be scammed.

Isn't that the idea of a PDL ? You borrow money and they take it back on payday ?

I don't think it is from experience on here.

It seems to be borrow money, have an unexpected financial difficulty, roll it over a few times and then try to arrange a repayment plan to pay it back at £1 a week or avoid paying due to some imaginary loophole.

Have you given them your account details or not. If you haven't, then you do not have a problem. If you do actually have a loan then just pay it all back on the day as required. Obviously with the agreed interest. Then the whole thing will be over and done with.
Your post is a bit lacking in details as to the actual status of the loan request.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
