I think the main concerns seem to be - if you expoit this tesco will pull the offers.

Two posters main point has been that it's morally wrong, which was the issue I was discussing. So, are you saying that because an offer may be pulled if a loophole in it is exploited, it doesn't have a place on the M.S.E. forum?

Remember if you collect clubcard points they can trace your purchases and returns, and may eventually cap the vouchers sent to you. so in theory only the individual abusing the vouchers will be effected

    Valid point.

Tesco's made over £2bn in there last financial year. And £1 in every £3 pounds spent at a supermarket is now spent at tesco's.

So " Getting a few quid back" isnt going to bother them, even if a few thousand people did it. Cause i am sure they with make more money out of everybody than you will ever save. As people are more than likely to spot something else to buy, which they wouldnt have, if they hadnt been in to save a few quid.

Just my way of seeing it.

And if the papers are to be believed Tesco are the main contenders to buy the Rover site in longbridge. And they are planning to build a mega mega store. Which will see there profit grow even more.

Don't present your card at the checkout, walk straight over to CS and get them to add the points. Your privacy as a shopper is then maintained.

Don't think that money saving tip is quite for me.... however, I often use these types of vouchers as 'complimenatary' ones, (one allowed per a shop) thus still making the saving, and all above board.;)

IMHO I will steer well clear. It isn't illegal (allegedly) but neither is it an offer as such. I wouldnt have the money in my purse to buy the clothes in the first place. If you need to save money that desperately I'd have expected you to be in a similar position. Other retailers have had issues with this site due to people exploiting offers/loopholes/vouchers. I wouldn't like to think that will happen again.

OK, here's another issue - can anyone shed light on this?
You know how Tesco will honour a manufacturer's food voucher even if you don't by the item? Well that's straightforward when the voucher stipulates .xx pence off, for example. But what happens in the case of a manufacturer's voucher that offers % off an item that you aren't buying? Will the till take the percentage off Tesco's current price for that item or do you have to use only manufacturer's vouchers with monetary amount discounts and not percentage discounts?

If you look at the barcode ignore the last digit and look at the previous 2 or 3 digits which is your discount in pence. eg xxxxxxxx067x will scan at 67p off. Hope this helps.
if i had known then what i know now
  • I've changed my mind (as I frequently do). Tesco are making how much profit each year?

Moralities my bottom. So what if I act a little immoral. At least my purse would look healthier! It's about time us consumers got something back! I shall dig out my clothing vouchers tomorrow! :j
