Half a pig.

DH has decided its a good idea to buy half a pig and maybe a full lamb.
The half a pig is going to cost £80 & the lamb £90 just wondering if anyone else buys their meat this way and if so do you think its good value for money and how many joints roughly will we get from them?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm really torn with this one cos its such a huge amount of money to spend but then I'd love a fully stocked freezer.
