Hi,
I got an email from Paypal inviting me to use their new app with the sweetener of £10 cashback at the following stores:
Oasis
M&Co
Sole Trader
Snow+Rock
Sole
Warehouse
Karen Millen
Coast
Email text:
"Introducing a faster, safer and easier way to shop on the high street. Our free inStore app lets you pay for stuff – using your mobile. And best of all, when you first buy something using the app, we’ll treat you to £10.
To qualify for the cashback, simply spend £10 or more in one of your favourite high street stores by the 28 April – and we’ll credit your PayPal account with £10 in May.
The app is so easy to use. When you’re ready to pay, it displays a unique one-time barcode that the shop assistant scans, or types in the code. Your PayPal account is charged and you receive an instant email receipt – no cards, no cash, no fuss.
So, what are you waiting for? Give the app a try – and get a £10 treat."
T&Cs:
"By the way
This offer is by invitation, so only you can take part. To qualify for the cashback, make sure you log into the app using your PayPal email address – the one this email was sent to. Cashback pay outs will be made by 23 May 2013, if not before. Enjoy shopping with a difference."
App is for iPhones and Android: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/use-paypal-in-stores
Maybe check your spam folders! (I've posted this in HotUKDeals as well, not copied and pasted someone else's
)
*Update*
Upon downloading the app and setting it up, it defaults to using your paypal balance, and then says (along the lines of) "if no balance then it will use your existing payment sources". You have to logon to the full paypal website, go to Settings, and then choose instore and specify the 'backup source'. I did this so it comes out of my cashback credit card rather than my debit card. May be useful in case you have a card on the account that is near its limit so you don't accidentally spend on it.
