Or you could be Stieg Larson's life partner of 30+ years who helped him write books that made 100Million after his death. And the brother/father inherited 100% of his estate (incl 50% of the flat they cohabitated) even though they had not spoken in other 25 years. Under swedish law. Married couples MUST publish their home address under their law (the couple did not marry and do so as they were left wing journos with enemies) and he had made a will with his solicitor the week he died, clearly leaving her 100% of everything to his partner but died before returning to the office to sign it.
The point is, law is different in every country, so what we think as common sense here, might not be upheld either here or in other countries.
So, use your expression of wishes, make a will, and marry unless you have a very good reason not to.0
