I Love Offbeat Bride! Even though ours is more traditional, it has a few little quirks, including ideas stolen from their Wedding P... section!

We are we have lots of little quirks and it's far from traditional. Me and my H2B are wearing converse (as are my bridesmaids) and it'll have a vintage/tea party feel to the whole day. One of our best "men" or "person" as we now like to refer, is a girl! I love offbeat bride and a lot of my inspiration has come from "rockmywedding".

I really quite fancy a pair of patent white doc marten boots or silver sequinned converse..so much choice. I have never been on 'rock my wedding' - I know what am doing tonight now haha x

I am a big fan of offbeatbride. Being a member there makes me feel a lot more normal. A lot of my choices seem pretty unconventional next to those of most of my friends. I have had a lot of 'what, no cake? The best man is a WOMAN? YOU'RE NOT HIRING A FLORIST?' (shock, horror). But on offbeat bride people are like 'yeah, whatever, I'm getting married at midnight in a cave by a wiccan priest, who's also my other boyfriend. I'll be wearing a neon tutu and my bridesmaid is my horse'.

I love Offbeat Bride - our wedding is fairly normal in that it's in a hotel etc. etc. but we are doing lots of things that we want to do rather than tradition.

For example our Save the Date cards are in the style of a 1950s pulp sci fi book cover and we're having a board gaming evening at our reception.

I'm pretty sure I won't be having a white dress either.

OBB is a fab resource for ideas and making you feel like it's OK to do things your way!

I showed my mum Offbeat Bride to make her realise that me getting married in a zoo and wearing a silver dress wasn't really anything to get wound up about. I had originally planned to wear purple myself which she went apopleptic about when I told her. She calmed down a bit when I said I was going silver but wasn't keen on me wearing purple shoes

I suspect we are relatively 'offbeat' - I'm wearing purple, it'll be a casual pub affair, buffet food and a huge cake of cheese, plus a few other bits and bobs...

We won't look as 'different' as some of the weddings on Offbeat Bride though!
