Getting a mortgage with Barclays?

What is it like getting a mortgage from Barclays, their turn around process?
What is their customer service and rentention like?

The application process will depend on your individual circumstances.

Once you've got a mortgage then unlikely you'll have much need for customer service, nor will they stop you from remortgaging to another lender should you wish.

Painfully slow at the moment. New systems were meant to help but can be frustrating to deal with.

If looking at a quick turn around, I would see how much difference in rates there would be to other lenders as you may worry Barclays wouldn't hit the deadline

Retentions are fair enough but not ground breaking

Absolutely awful don't bother. Applied to port mine 5 weeks ago still not had an offer. Signed up for text and emails alerts had nothing. My buyer also applied to them same time. Someone rang today to book a valuation on mine however i doubt they would Hav if I had not got my estate agent to chase things up!

Thanks for your replies everyone. I was after interest only with 50% ltv but when I called up after waiting 10min on the phone they said the website is a glitch and they do not offer interest only unless the borrowing amount is 300k!
