Ella I am so pleased to see what you do. Please can people spare a thought for woman's refuges. A lot of these woman flee in the dead of night with no clothing, no toiletries and no toys for their children. I send all my spare stuff to the local refuge including loads of small sized toiletries the OH gets from numerous hotel trips plus paper knickers etc (were on offer once in Boots bought the whole blimming lot). Any good condition toys I send there. Can't say that I bought too many H & B because I could not bear the thought of storing them (no space at all, too many Kids) plus I did do a couple of shops and sent them to the refuge. It still amazes me that it is the female and their children that have to leave the house in order to escape what is frightful violence etc.

    Thanks for listening.

spender I give to my local refuge but unless you live near one and know it to be a refuge it's very difficult to find one because of the nature of them.

If you want to do this you *may* be able to donate through local counsellors/psychiatric nurses (possibly at your GP surgery or mental health unit) as lots of these women have depressive illness as a result of their circumstances.

Dormy, yes I realise that it is difficult, I just wrote because I do know where the refuge is, I still have to make contact before going though, sorry I forgot that the whole point is that people don't know where they are!

Sorry as well because I have gone off topic1
