Oil removal from 100% cotton duvet cover ~ any ideas?

One of the cats has unfortunately got traces of oil on her fur and transferred it to my favourite duvet 
. Can i pre- treat it with anything to get it out. As i could get it in the wash asap if so. They have done this before on a much lighter and older cotton duvet cover, and the stain never washed out. Luckily this is patterned both sides, so at least i have the option to flip it over.

depends what type of oil. If it's engine oil, it'll be a swine, but for most oil, a bar of soap rubbed onto it before washing, or soap flakes, or washing up liquid [a little bit]Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

if the washing up liquid doesn't do it, it might be worth trying a degreaser on a little bit to see if it comes off seeing as engine oil stains as well as being greasy...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

My granny used to use lard to remove oil, then some washing up liquid.0

In the wash, so will see what happens. Put old clean duvet on and she's got it on there too. I feel your pain, I have two splodges on my pure white duvet cover, it won't ever come out, so OH gets it on his side

I have one that i use as a throw on the bed, and typically it was in the wash.
