Husband falsely listed as company director

Couldn't work out where to put this, so forgive me if this is the wrong board.
DH has discovered he is listed as a director for a company (educational charity). He definitely has not signed anything, and one of the other directors is someone he has fallen out with and doesn't trust. He suspects this individual may have forged his signature. This company hasn't filed any returns with Companies House as far as I can see; although it purports to be a charity, it isn't listed with the Charities Commission. What's the best way to get himself removed from any association with this company?

He would have had to sign a form to be added as director.. so if he didn't, then there's definitely something going on!!0 -
Thanks - we've discovered he's listed as director on three companies associated with this other person, one of which he signed a form for but subsequently resigned from over a year ago, but not the other two where he's a director without his knowledge, so it's possible there are two cases of fraud. I've forwarded the link and he's going to contact Companies House re getting himself removed from all three."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Resigning as a director is not as straightforward as it used to be. Most Companies are now registered for the electronic filing of documents with Companies House using a login and password issued to the Company's registered address.
If that is the case for the Company's in question then any paper forms TM01 filed will be rejected.
The OP may need to get a solicitor involved.0 -
What your husband has experienced is a relatively common problem and Companies House has a 'reporting fraud' page which specifically mentions people being added as Directors without their knowledge.

I'm not sure the OP's husband wants to resign as a director - it's more that he wants recognition of the fact he never was a director in the first place. Trying to resign might muddy the waters considerably.
I'd try cathryn's link first.0 -

Well I'd certainly steer clear of any 'charity' that isn't registered with Charity Commissioners. But then again the same applies to a number of so-called charities that are registered.0
