Co op cheese bargain

At my Co-op they are 2 for £5

Got a leaflet through the door about this offer (buy 1, get 2 free) so sent hubby today. All he could see was the 2 for £5 so he asked (luckily I had told him to take the leaflet). The assistant showed him where it was but it was not marked up as buy 1 get 2 free. When hubby questioned they said that they must have forgotten to put the label on.Ditch 100 in January Challenge 100/100

But what is the standard price of the cheese (or, rather, how much is it worth)? £5 per kg? £7 per kg?
You are not getting 3 for the price of 1 - you are getting about 40% off at most (assuming the cheese is only truly worth about £7). The headline price is a lie - £13 per kg for a standard supermarket cheddar? Rubbish.0 -
They were buy 1 get 2 free in my local store for £3.99 although it says £4.19 on their website. Really good buy. I bought 3.0

This is just a marketing [STRIKE]con[/STRIKE] ploy so you don't notice that they have reduced their pack sizes from 350g to 320g when the price goes back up to £4.19 each at the end of the promotion. Over the last year pack sizes have generally dropped from 400g to 350g and now 320g whilst the price has risen from £3.99 to £4.19. The supermarkets and manufacturers just think we're all stupid enough to not notice that whilst the price doesn't seem to have increased that much, the weight has dropped by 20%.0

You are right in that we should look at the price per kilo - but i don't think you can get mature cheddar or extra mature cheddar for £4.36 per kilo - we eat a lot of it in our house and I consider it cheap if its around £5 per kilo.0 -
All Wykes Farm Cheese in my store is 2 for £5! If you want a bargain Mature cheese try Farmfoods 1KG block for £5.
