When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:money:

Morning guys  I hope you're all well as we march towards the weekend :T

Ally I hope you get better today, Bobarella I'm wishing you lots of business today!

Ok my things for the day, before I do a mad dash to get showered and ready and not be late!

* checked banking, still dire and for the next 2 weeks as well
* all meals from stores - more parsnip soup mmmmm
* maybe a NSD? I just need a prescription but it can wait a couple of days....
quick shower, time myself!
* have a hunt around and see if I can sell anything that will bring in some quick bucks
* check onepoll
* go for a walk to the post office & post my contract in my lunch break - not a NSD after all then!
* get fish out of freezer for dinner
* prepping the spare room tonight
* call plumber about installing our gas fire - this is becoming a joke!

Ok that's my lot. Gotta run. Have a lovely day everyone x

    Morning all!

Thanks for starting us off DNMS

I'm a bit bruised and battered this morning after playing the military wives at netball, they're not all choristers you know! Some of them are Fijian brick sh** houses :p

    Anyways, this is me today:
    - Checked bank (no change)
    - Breakfast was porridge pot
    - Packed lunch made
    - Left purse at home
    - Housework tonight, have let this slip with a busy life!
    - 1x HC and hang on airer
    - Early night in a hope to avoid cold shivers and hot sweats again tonight

    Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

    Hi Penny-savers,
After 2 sunny days, it's back to grey chill here in the Midlands. So far today I have:
    *Entered 3 prize draws.
*Done surveys (Am now more than half way to another £30 Debenhams giftcard, whoo-hooo!)
*Checked & paid credit card bill. No nasty surprises.
*Updated grocery budget.....for which, read 'Sort out the big muddle that is our April grocery budget'. Not a hope of coming in on budget this month so went through receipts to analyse why this is. A mixture of things, not helped by me underestimating what I'd need to budget for 4 lots of entertaining. Never mind. Will be extra careful for rest of month & plan an angelic month for May.
*Updated April's personal spends - I have the memory span of a gnat where spending is concerned...if I don't write it down the same day, I can't remember it.
*Found the princely sum of 6p on the way to the postbox, so the coppers jar is up if nothing else!
*All meals as per April meal plans.
*Mr f taken home made soup from freezer for packed lunch.
    *Read Martin's email newsletter.
    Still to do:
    *Sow watercress seeds.
*Do shopping list & do online order (free delivery)
*Have some Me-time, which at the moment means knitting my pretty green socks!
    That's it for me today.

2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!
