How much did you spend?
What is a reasonable amount for these wedding invites, reception, rsvp?
I wouldn't know what is deemed as quite expensive.

Everyone's 'acceptable' is completely different.
People on here range from zero to £300 (think that's the max I've seen) per head.
We could 'afford' to spend a ridiculous amount, but an 'acceptable' amount to us is considerably less. We've been together 8 years and so are just throwing a party to celebrate a very small wedding.
Your better starting off with a budget and working back, otherwise you can keep adding on.
If you post your budget, numbers, 'must haves' (for example some want photos, others don't) and we can help you stick to your budget.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
I think you need to take into account the type of wedding you are having and the number of people you want to invite when deciding how much to spend on the invites
It really is personal choice and to be honest the price minimum and maximums are very different...for example you can send a text or email free if thats your thing or you can spend £10 per invite if you want something far more fancy.
If it were me and money was tight I think I would opt for a cheaper invite and use the remaining money somewhere else where it could be beeter used/appreciated
Family members sometimes keep their invites as reminders of a wedding but normally as a guest most of those ive received I transfer the details to our calendar and after the wedding they have ended up in the bin...
You can include rsvp cards its a nice touch and hopefully some people will use them to reply...but dont expect to get them back...some people will just tell you or send a different card...or even just assume that because youve asked them to the wedding ,you automatically know that they will be attending!!!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Sorry 74jax I should have worded it properly, I meant the invites, reception invites and rsvp
Thanks LEJC! Yeah I think a few of my family members will keep the invites like we do of any relatives. Hmm after your comments and a little thought I think I have found a few reasons justifying the cost of my invites, thanks0 -
I did actually once get an invite to a wedding made by this company...

They're fantastic! :happyhear
We made ours, I think they've cost a max of £30. A combination of card, rubber stamps, ink and ribbon. We made our own RSVP postcards because I loved this postcard , and thought I Want!0 -
I made mine too. I probably did spend about £120 on all the stationary, but it made 80 invites, 60 orders of service, tables numbers, table plan etc etc.
I didn't include any sort of RSVP though, just a postal address and an email address. We got some of each, including some lovely RSVP cardsOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

Completely up to you, what we did was decide on what was most important to us, so while we skimped on invites and didn't have a videographer, we splurged on a great photographer.
We made our own invites (60 day and 60 evening), rsvp (60 - day only), OOS (50) and table numbers (12) and in total cost around £30-40. I'd left it a bit late in the end so got help from my stationery shop, so it should have been a bit cheaper.
don't forget to count how many invites you will need, we did about half the total number of guests and didn't give invites to immediate family or the wedding party. We also did about half for OOS0 -
Never been to a wedding, but I have had and sent several invitations to birthdays etc.
Cupcakes with the details printed on the pennant: I make the cakes, but you can buy multipacks from home bargains etc and just dust them with icing sugar, I personally stick buttercream on top and then grate chocolate over it (Msavers generally) with a gentle mist of metallic cake spray or edible glitter. Works out at about 8-20p each depending on how much you buy and how much you do yourself.
Poundworld normally has around 8 for £1 on offer.
Invitation on a candle is cool, the cost is a custom stamp and however many candles you need, they're really nice to have. I kept mine around for ages.

Also paper bags printed with the details and containing brochures for nearby accommodation, restaurants, childcare etc. are actually really useful because at least one person won't think to book in advance something they desperately need.0
