Sterling silver won't give you green ears!
Sadly the market (on eBay at least) is currently flooded with all sorts of products with the 925 hallmark that are actually silver plated.
In fact you can find many listings that state 925 marked plated - one of the most recent trends of Pandora type beads are the worst for this.
With silver prices so high I sadly wouldn't be surprised if it is a plated product.
If you have the product to hand there are a number of tests you can do tell some plated metals straight of, a couple of simple ones
Sterling silver isn't magnetic.
Wash your hands & dry thoroughly, hold the item in your hands till warmed up, sniff your hands, if they smell like copper coins its plated.
Good luck.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0
