I want to buy water toy waterplay or aquaplay?

I am looking for a water toy for little boy. Not bothered about the water and sand tables but I started to look at these canal type toys. Seen this one on amazon made by aquaplay

Only thing is I don't think I can have a look at them anywhere as you can't buy from the shops directly only have them delivered. And they are quite expensive so need to know what I am buying is worth it.
Are there any other alternatives.
Is it best to wait and see if any deals come up.
