Hi, i have just moved into a rented property and havn't started paying council tax as yet, i am waiting for them to send the bill, which i was told could take a few weeks. I decided to check my band on the goverment site and my house is band B and every other house on the row is band A. I rang up and spoke to the valuation people and was told that the house needs revaluating and then he asked if i had lived there 6 months. i said i had just moved in and he said if i hadn't been there 6 months it's a whole different kettle of fish and i told him, if everybody else is A and mine is B something isn't right, he said he will send me some forms to fill out but was just wondering if anybody had any advice, if they go off me just moving in and not living here 6 months, thanks in advance

This will be because you have a right to appeal against the banding within 6 months of moving in so the VOA will be happy to look at your case. Generally speaking, after 6 months you've missed your chance.0
