cost of living pay rise

Hello I went br in August with no I.P.A work full time but just over min wage. My trustee has been brilliant when I called her last week to let her know I would be approx £20 better off due to tax allowance changes but I had a debit on my electricity of £126 managed to pay some off then increase dd by £20...she was fine with that I sent her the letter showing the new payment and her reply was no problem we trust you...which was really nice....now my problem is I am waiting to hear if we are getting a cost of living rise maybe 1 or 2% which will only be at the most £22....will it be acceptable to use this against the rising cost of food and petrol?
I live alone and have £195 on food and £55 petrol simply because that is all thats left after the priority bills rent, council tax, car running costs which are essential for my job. Its a struggle but I get by. Sorry to rant on!! xx

I'm guesing you are in Scotland...so it's a bit different there but here you would still need to tell your OR of ANY change in income or expenses, so I guess it will be the same there, can't see £20 being a problem though.

Well I've certainly noticed an increase in my weekly shop over the past few months. In fact, I have seen people commenting on how expensive everything is when they are shopping. Hopefully you will be able to keep your extra £22.

and fuel has definitely gone up too so I'm sure your extra money is already being swallowed up.
