Me & my son share the same name & unfortunately he is in debt & I keep getting debt collection searches on my credir report which should be attributed to him & not me...... Can anyone help as to what I can do to remove these, and how I can stop it from happening in the future......
We clearly dont have the same DOB so how can these debt collection agencies keep getting it so wrong & adversely effecting my report?
Thanks
John

Hi
Are you putting notices of correction on?
Have you complained to the CRAs?
Good luck

Debt collection searches should be unrecorded ones, meaning that only you can see them. As such, they should have no effect on the report any prospective lender might see. They would not know of them.
Still, it's not satisfactory so a complaint to the CRA is in order. They should not be matching searches against your son with your report.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
